Have you ever stopped and given change to a hobo? What kind of man would move a hobo to stop and give him change? Jeff Klitzner rose from the ashes of his troubled childhood, complete with insane mother, absent father, getting committed, and poker games with senior citizens, to beg, borrow, and steal his way across five continents, get kicked out of a foreign country, get thrown in jail, break hearts, qualify as a rabbi, and drink epic amounts of alcohol. And he’s lived to tell about it. So far. You better read this book, because I’m not sure if he’ll survive to write a sequel. If you lived this hard, you might not either. The most screwed up lives make for the best stories. Top this one.

As a personal friend of this man, this book is an amazing piece of a autobiographical work. Jeff LIVED a life most of us could only imagine experiencing in a fictional capacity, Jeff chose to "buck" the system and live HIS life! While some choices in his life growing up were out of his control while growing up, Jeff embraced his uniqueness and struggles and made a life that is told in this raw, emotion filled book. Not many people in my life could survive being committed, being abandoned, being kicked out of a country, but Jeff did. The best way to describe this book is to tell you to READ THIS BOOK!! It will leave you forever changed, I promise you that once you read Jeff's story you will appreciate the life you have built and the life of your family that much more!!!Product details

Call Me Tennessee Jeff Klitzner Stephen Clements 9780615490786 Books Reviews
This book is an easy read and a great coming of age story. The author bravely opens up his heart to us as well as his sometimes troubled soul. I finished all 37 chapters in less than 24 hours after receiving the book, unable to put it down! The author talks about a very unusual childhood, growing up poor & Jewish, raised by his mom in Memphis, TN. He goes on to tell us about his great adventures in High School, College and young Adulthood, standing out the only way he knew how, with SHOCK & AWE tactics. He introduces us to many characters you'll never get the opportunity to meet unless you work the night shift at a hotel, freqent after hours bars, walk the halls and back alleys of a State Capital, teach English in a foreign country, tour continents with no advance planning & study to be a Rabbi in Isreal. He also shares his opinions along the way, experiencing all the highs and lows that come with love; friendship & Joy as well as loss; misery & Jail.
When I was living in Israel, this guy (Jeff Klitzner)was one of my roommates. I just found out he died from a heart attack. He was in his early 30's...
As someone who knew Jeff for a short time and Minda as well, I can certainly say that I know both of them better as a result of this book. I am sad that Jeff's life was cut short by his death and send my prayers to Minda and the rest of his family to help them cope with the future as best as possible.
